9th Conference on Interdisciplinary Musicology – CIM14

Empirics, Computation, Mathematics, Science and Technology in Music and Acoustical Signal Analysis – ECMST ~ MASA IV

We would like to invite you to send a proposal to CIM14 on Xenakis and Technology. Proposals are welcome by multiple or single authors, as long as they are interdisciplinary and will be reviewed by the Programme Committee of CIM14. Abstracts of maximum 300 words should be submitted online via the following link:

Please consider the submission details including the important interdisciplinary criteria on the submission page.

Deadline for abstract submission: 14 August 2014

Additionally and concurrently to CIM14, we are hoping to hold a poster session, titled Iannis Xenakis – Composition between Art and Algorithm, as the 4th edition of ECMST ~ MASA (Empirics, Computation, Mathematics, Science and Technology in Music and Acoustical Signal Analysis). This poster session will run parallel to (but independent of) CIM14 and thus we hope it will have enhanced impact. If you have not already sent a proposal for this poster session, you still have the option to do so. This session has a different focus and format and is an ideal addition to a CIM14 submission: ECMST ~ MASA aims to provide a platform for presenting and exchanging information regarding the current state of empirical, mathematical, technological, scientific and computer based research in music and sound.

If you wish to submit a proposal for ECMST ~ MASA please send a description of 300 words maximum to <d.exarchos@gold.ac.uk> and <klouche@sim.spk-berlin.de>.
Please note that the final version will be restricted by space, as the posters are printed in A0 format, but a good indication would be around 1500 words (depending on the figures, tables, etc.). Also possible are sound and video assets that can be presented on site and as a supplement online.
